Regular Season Round 10: Lourdes - RAC Basket 84-85

Important game to mention about took place in Tarbes. Eighth ranked Rueil (6-4) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (3-7) 85-84 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lourdes-Tarbes won third quarter 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Lourdes-Tarbes outrebounded Rueil 37-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Serbian swingman Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) fired 28 points for the winners. American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in 21 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Rueil moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Lourdes-Tarbes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Rueil will face higher ranked Vitre (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Union Rennes (#5) and hope to win that game.
