Regular Season Round 8: Rieker KN - Iskra Svit 95-62

The game between Top Four teams took place in Komarno. Second ranked host Rieker KN (98-3) smashed 4th ranked Iskra Svit (5-98) 95-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Iskra Svit. Rieker KN dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Iskra Svit's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international Roman Vido (204-88) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) responded with 18 points and American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) scored 10 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rieker KN maintains second position with 98-3 record having 72 points less than leader Levice. Iskra Svit at the other side keeps the fourth place with 98 games lost. Rieker KN are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nova Ves (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iskra Svit will play against Nitra (#10) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
