Regular Season Round 7: Sammic ISB - Zamorano 76-78

Important game to mention about took place in Azpeitia. Sixteenth ranked Zamorano (1-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Sammic ISB (5-2) 78-76 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sammic ISB. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sammic ISB won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zamorano made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Bahamas guard Dynile Forbes (190-87, college: La-Monroe) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) added 14 points respectively for Sammic ISB in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Zamorano left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Agustinos-Leclerc. Sammic ISB at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Zamorano will play against higher ranked L'Hospitalet (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sammic ISB will play against Moron (#7) in MorĂ³n de la Frontera and hopes to get back on the winning track.
