Regular Season Round 10: Kouvot - Korihait 86-66

There was no surprise in Kouvola where 10th ranked UU-Korihait (2-8) was crushed by eighth ranked Kouvot (4-6) 86-66. It looked good early as UU-Korihait took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kouvot had a 22-18 second period charge getting the lead and UU-Korihait was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-86. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Kouvot players scored in double figures. Forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Emmanuel Holloway (185-86, college: Illinois St., agency: Blacktop Management) added 16 points in the effort for UU-Korihait. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains eighth position with 4-6 record. Newly promoted UU-Korihait stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Kouvot will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UU-Korihait will play at home against Tampereen Pyrinto (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
