Regular Season Round 8: Fuerza Regia - Toros 64-63

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LNBP took place in Monterrey. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Toros (5-4) to top-ranked Fuerza Regia (8-0) 64-63 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 25-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Regia forced 20 Toros turnovers. Strangely Toros outrebounded Fuerza Regia 38-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Toros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Andy Panko (203-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra) who added 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and international forward Marco Ramos (198-87, college: Grand Canyon) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Toros' coach Jose Martinez Boglio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fuerza Regia have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Newly promoted Toros keep the third place with four games lost. Fuerza Regia are again looking forward to face Toros (#3) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toros will have a break next round.
