The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Nevezis' (4-7) road loss to sixth ranked Neptunas (6-5) 63-70. It looked good early as Nevezis took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Neptunas had a 20-16 second period charge getting the lead and Nevezis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-70. Neptunas made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 4 assists. American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatia guard Toni Prostran (182-91) answered with 11 points and 7 assists and forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91) added 13 points in the effort for Nevezis. The victory was the third consecutive win for Neptunas. They moved-up to fourth place. Nevezis lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Neptunas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Lietkabelis (#3) in Panevezys and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play on the road against Dzukija (#9) in Alytus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
