Regular Season Round 1: Tokyo Cinq R. - Tokyo HT 79-106
Date: November 12, 2016
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT and Tokyo Cinq R. (#0). Tokyo Cinq R. was crushed at home by 27 points 79-106 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo Cinq R.. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-79. Tokyo HT made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Tokyo Cinq R. only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 41-27 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Tokyo HT and four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo HT's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Big Blue.
