Regular Season Round 9: Turk Telekom - Yalova Bld 94-66

Date: November 12, 2016
There was no surprise in Ankara where 13th ranked Yalova Bld (3-6) was crushed by fifth ranked Turk Telekom (6-3) 94-66 on Saturday. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Recep Solak (206-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Jamaica power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: Oklahoma S&A) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Burak Sasmaz (183-91) added 8 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Turk Telekom maintains fifth place with 6-3 record, which they share with Bursaspor. Newly promoted Yalova Bld keeps the thirteenth position with six games lost. Turk Telekom will face higher ranked Istanbulspor (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yalova Bld will play against Pertevniyal (#16) and hope to win that game.
