There was a small surprise in Firenze where fourteenth ranked Fiorentina (3-4) won against 11th ranked San Miniato (4-3) 72-62 on Saturday. They outrebounded San Miniato 44-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Miniato was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Giacomo Bloise (183-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. Swingman Davide Poltroneri (195-85) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side guard Francesco Stefanelli (190-95) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward Gabriele Giarelli (197-93, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points. San Miniato's coach Federico Barsotti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fiorentina moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser San Miniato dropped to the fourth position with three games lost.
