Regular Season Round 8: Chalons-Reims - Nancy 94-90

Date: November 12, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Sluc Nancy (2-6) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Chalons-Reims (4-4) 94-90 on Saturday. Sluc Nancy was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Chalons-Reims, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Mark Payne (203-88, college: Cal-Davis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Nigeria-American swingman Ebi Ere (195-81, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points) added 22 points in the effort for Sluc Nancy. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalons-Reims moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Sluc Nancy dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Chalons-Reims will face higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sluc Nancy will play against Le Portel (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
