Regular Season Round 6: Stelmet ZG - Krosno 87-72

The most important game in the last round took place in Zielona Gora between second ranked Krosno (4-3) and fourth ranked Stelmet (5-2) on Saturday night. Krosno was defeated by Stelmet on the road 72-87. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Stelmet shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for the former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Stelmet players scored in double figures. American guard Royce Woolridge (190-92, college: Grand Canyon) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Swedish-American guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91, college: Davidson) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Krosno. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with PGE Turow. Krosno at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Stelmet is looking forward to face Energa Czarni (#13) in Slupsk in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Krosno will play at home against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
