Regular Season Round 1: Fukuoka Rizing - Saitama Bron. 89-73

Everything went according to plan when Fukuoka Rizing (2-0) beat at home Saitama Broncos (0-2) 89-73. The game was mostly controlled by Fukuoka Rizing. Saitama Broncos was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fukuoka Rizing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 36. Fukuoka Rizing forced 23 Saitama Broncos turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Saitama Broncos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds. Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Masaya Ueda (177-93) answered with 28 points and 4 assists and American forward Stanford Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Fukuoka Rizing's next round opponent will be Toyoda Gosei (#8) in Aichi and are hoping to win another game. Saitama Broncos will play at home against Kanazawa Sam. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
