Regular Season Round 7: Venezia - Broni 87-43

Very expected game when 9th ranked Broni (2-5) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Venezia (6-1) 87-43. The game without a history. Venezia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Broni to just 5 points in third quarter. Venezia forced 25 Broni turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Point guard Debora Carangelo (169-92) fired 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Andrea Liberalotto felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. American-Nigeria Ndidi Madu (188-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and forward Arianna Zampieri (183-88) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Venezia moved-up to second place, which they share with San Martino and Lucca. Broni lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Venezia's next round opponent will be Vigarano (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Broni will play against San Martino in San Martino di L and hope to win that game.
