Regular Season Round 8: Navarra - Gandia 88-77

Everything could happen in Pamplona at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Navarra and 11th ranked Gandia had identical 2-5 record. This time Navarra used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Gandia 88-77 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Navarra. Gandia was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Gandia's 30. They outrebounded Gandia 39-26 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gandia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Sergio Vidal (194-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Tomasevic (201-92) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Gandia's coach Victor Rubio gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Navarra (3-5) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Gandia dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Navarra will face CB Tarragona 2017 (#12) on the road in the next round. Gandia will play against Albacete and hope to win that game.
