Regular Season Round 6: PGE Turow - Energa Czarni 83-81

Important game to mention about took place in Zgorzelec. Third ranked PGE Turow (5-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Energa Czarni (3-3) 83-81 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Energa Czarni. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-18. But Energa Czarni won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Power forward David Kravish (208-92, college: California) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Justin Jackson (204-90, college: Cincinnati) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Energa Czarni. Five PGE Turow and four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. PGE Turow moved-up to second place, which they share with Stelmet ZG. Loser Energa Czarni keeps the ninth position with three games lost. PGE Turow will face AZS Polfarmex (#12) in Kutno in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Stal Ostrow Wlkp. and hope to win that game.
