The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel's (3-6) road loss to sixth ranked Hannover (5-4) 72-78 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 27-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hannover made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Rotenburg/Scheessel turnovers. The best player for the winners was French guard Pauline Diawakana (170-92) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Four Hannover players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists and American forward Tabytha Wampler (185-90, college: N.Mexico St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Hannover moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Herner. Loser Rotenburg/Scheessel dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Freiburg. Hannover will meet Herner TC (#6) on the road in the next round. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against Gruner Stern Keltern and hope to secure a win.
