Regular Season Round 8: Palma II - Vive El Masnou 55-82

There was an upset when second-ranked Palma II (5-2) was outplayed at home by eighth ranked Vive El Masnou (4-3) 82-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Vive El Masnou. Palma II was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vive El Masnou forced 22 Palma II turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Jordi Catalan (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and Oriol Tomeu who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) scored 5 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vive El Masnou moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with Mollet and Sant Adria. Newly promoted Palma II keeps the second position with two games lost.
