Regular Season Round 6: Shanxi BD - Beijing D. 125-114

The most important game in the last round took place in Taiyuan between third ranked Beijing Ducks (4-2) and thirteenth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (3-3) on Sunday night. Beijing Ducks were defeated by Shanxi Zhongyu on the road 125-114. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. Shanxi Zhongyu made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Beijing Ducks 49-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) had a triple-double by scoring 61 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Junwei Ren (203-90) chipped in 12 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach Xujin Zhe used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Yue Sun (206-85) scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Shanxi Zhongyu and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Beijing Ducks at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW and Qingdao E.. Shanxi Zhongyu is looking forward to face higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#4) in Yingkou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Beijing Ducks' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beijing North Control.
