Regular Season Round 8: Manresa - Andorra 91-93

Important game to mention about took place in Manresa. Seventh ranked Andorra (5-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 17th ranked La ICL Manresa (1-6) 93-91 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 29-23. But La ICL Manresa won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Andorra won last quarter 26-25. Georgia center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. French point guard Andrew Albicy (177-90) contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) replied with 20 points and American swingman Scott Suggs (197-89, college: Washington) added 15 points in the effort for La ICL Manresa. Five Andorra and four La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Andorra moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Valencia. La ICL Manresa lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Andorra will face Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round which should be an easy win for them. La ICL Manresa will play on the road against RETAbet BB in Bilbao and hope to win that game.
