Regular Season Round 7: Cefalu - Cassino 64-72

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Cefalu (1-5) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Cassino (5-2) 72-64 on Sunday. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Simone Bagnoli (205-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Duilio Birindelli (200-84) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Cassino's coach Luca Vettese allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Marco Mollura (196-93) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Riccardo Malagoli (209-88) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Cassino moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo and Faenza. Newly promoted Cefalu dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Cassino will face Viterbo SA (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cefalu will play against Catanzaro and hope to win that game.
