Regular Season Round 7: Cecina - Sangiorgese 86-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Sangiorgese's (2-5) road loss to seventh ranked Cecina (6-1) 82-86 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Cecina especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Giovanni Bruni (185-82, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 assists. Power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side point guard Filippo Rossi (190-98) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Andrea Tommei (181-91) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sangiorgese's coach Massimo Padovano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cecina keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Orzinuovi GaGa. Loser Sangiorgese dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Cecina will face Fiorentina (#12) in Firenze in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sangiorgese will play at home against Moncalieri and hope to win that game.
