Regular Season Round 10: Rybnik - Polonia Bytom 49-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Rybnik's (5-4) home loss to fourth ranked Polonia Bytom (7-3) 49-70 on Sunday. Polonia Bytom forced 22 Rybnik turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Emil Podkowinski (194-88) fired 20 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Tomasz Gembus (197-87) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Krzysztof Zielinski (192-82) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Polonia Bytom have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group C. Newly promoted Rybnik keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Polonia Bytom will face AZS PS Gliwice (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Rybnik will play against the league's leader AZS PK in Krakow and hope to win that game.
