Regular Season Round 11: AB Ancud - CD Castro 71-69

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Liga Nacional took place in Ancud. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed CD Castro (7-7) to seventh ranked AB Ancud (5-9) 71-69 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CD Castro. Strangely CD Castro outrebounded AB Ancud 35-23 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. Venezuela swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for CD Castro. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. AB Ancud moved-up to sixth place. CD Castro at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. AB Ancud are looking forward to face league's second-placed Osorno Basquetbol on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CD Castro will play against Deportivo Valdivia and is hoping to win this game.
