Regular Season Round 8: Valencia II - Paterna 71-73

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Valencia-2 (2-4) was edged at home by third ranked Paterna (5-1) 73-71 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valencia-2 won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vicent Santamatilde (197-94) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 11 rebounds and forward Juan Navarro (195-91) who added 13 points during the contest. Swingman Josep Puerto (199-99) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and Jon Galarza (193-97) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Paterna have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group E, which they share with UCAM Murcia II. Loser Valencia-2 keeps the seventh position with four games lost.
