Regular Season Round 6: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel T-A 82-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-3) against twelfth ranked Maccabi K/G (2-4) on Monday night. Visiting Hapoel Tel-Aviv was defeated by Maccabi K/G in a tough game in Kiryat Gat 75-82. The hosts were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 28-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) scored 25 points, 7 assists and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Darrell Williams (203-89, college: Tex.A&M-Comm., agency: BeoBasket) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi K/G moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Maccabi K/G will play against higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play at home against Galil Gilboa (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
