Very important is a home loss of second ranked Hapoel B/S (4-2) against tenth ranked Hapoel Afula (3-3) on Tuesday night. Host Hapoel B/S was defeated by Hapoel Afula in Beer Sheva 84-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hapoel B/S. Hapoel Afula forced 19 Hapoel B/S turnovers. American forward Jalen Cannon (198-93, college: St.Francis, NY) notched 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Orel Lev (195-93) supported him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Even 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks by American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for Hapoel B/S. His fellow American import guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) added 15 points. Hapoel B/S's coach Yaniv Burger rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hapoel Afula moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Hapoel B/S at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Hapoel Afula will play against Maccabi Rehovot (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel B/S will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#4) in Nes Ziyona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
