Regular Season Round 12: Las Animas - Puerto Montt 82-69

Not a big story in a game in Valdivia where 12th ranked Puerto Montt (5-6) was defeated by fifth ranked Las Animas (7-5) 82-69. It was a great shooting night for Las Animas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The winners were led by American guard Dominic Cheek (198-91, college: Villanova) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) supported him with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by American power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) did not help to save the game for Puerto Montt. Francisco Jara (192-87) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Las Animas maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Puerto Montt at the other side stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Las Animas will play against Universidad Catolica (#10) in Santiago in the next round where they are favorite. Puerto Montt will play on the road against Espanol de Talca and hopes to get back on the winning track.
