Regular Season Round 11: Zubry - AZS UJK Kielce 80-77

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked AZS UJK Kielce (5-6) was edged by eleventh ranked Zubry (3-7) in Bialystok 80-77 on Saturday. Zubry forced 24 AZS UJK Kielce turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Arkadiusz Zabielski (197-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Krzysztof Kalinowski (186-76) contributed with 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Zubry players scored in double figures. Jakub Lewandowski (194-92) answered with 19 points and swingman Lukasz Fafara (193-84) added 14 points, 5 assists and 6 steals in the effort for AZS UJK Kielce. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zubry moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. AZS UJK Kielce at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Zubry will face league's leader KK Warszawa at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
