Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked AZS PCz (3-7) was outscored by second ranked AZS AWF Mick. (9-1) in Czestochowa 93-64 on Saturday. AZS AWF Mick. shot 25 for 35 from the free-throw line, while AZS PCz only scored nine points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. AZS PCz was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four AZS AWF Mick. players scored in double figures. Forward Tomasz Nogalski (192-79) answered with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Przemyslaw Laszewski (194-90) added 12 points in the effort for AZS PCz. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for AZS AWF Mick.. They maintain second place with 9-1 record behind leader Slask Wroclaw, which they share with Gornik Walbrzych. Loser AZS PCz dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. AZS AWF Mick. will face Wisla Krakow (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS PCz will play against Zaglebie in Sosnowiec and hope to win that game.
