Regular Season Round 9: Benidorm - Valencia II 57-72

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Valencia-2 (3-4) defeated on the road 6th ranked Benidorm (3-4) 72-57 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Josep Puerto (199-99) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Pablo Perez (186-97) chipped in 13 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Joscar Demby (203-88, college: Millikin) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Luis Rueda (186-96) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively. Benidorm's coach let to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valencia-2 moved-up to fifth place in Group E, which they share with Benidorm and Sagunto. Valencia-2 will face league's second-placed UCAM Murcia II at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Benidorm will play against the league's leader Myrtia in Murcia and hope to win that game.
