Regular Season Round 9: AEC Collblanc - Olivar 81-78

There was no surprise in L´Hospitalet where 12th ranked Olivar (2-6) was edged by eighth ranked AEC Collblanc (4-3) 81-78 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-78. The best player for the winners was center Angel Soto (205-90) who scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Pedro Corominas (180-71) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jaime Fernandez (203-0) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Joan Bernacer (194-99) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. AEC Collblanc moved-up to sixth place in Group C-A, which they share with Arenys. Loser Olivar keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. AEC Collblanc will face higher ranked Cornella (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olivar will play against Calvia (#3) and hope to win that game.
