Regular Season Round 13: CDU Concepcion - CD Valdivia 79-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Concepcion, where higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (7-4) lost to ninth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (3-6) in a road game 72-79 on Saturday. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international Gerardo Isla (201-91, college: Columbia, MO) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Universidad de Concepcion went down to tenth position due to points difference. Loser Deportivo Valdivia dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will meet at home bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (#12) in the next round. Deportivo Valdivia will play against Espanol de Talca and hope to secure a win.
