Regular Season Round 9: Plasencia - San Fernando 84-87

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked San Fernando (2-5) edged on the road 5th ranked Plasencia (3-4) 87-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 31-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Plasencia outrebounded San Fernando 55-34 including a 25-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Gonzalo Bueno (205-93) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Tugores (185-95) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Serigne Seck (205-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and center Luis Garcia (202-90) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. San Fernando maintains seventh place in Group D-B with 2-5 record. Plasencia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. San Fernando will face league's second-placed ULB OH!TELS in La Linea in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plasencia will play at home against Huelva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
