Regular Season Round 9: Granada - Zamorano 88-89

Date: November 19, 2016
Leading CB Granada (6-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were edged by sixteenth ranked Zamorano (3-6) 89-88. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CB Granada won fourth quarter 30-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zamorano made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Strangely CB Granada outrebounded Zamorano 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 assists for the winners and American guard Chris Hansen (193, college: Idaho St.) chipped in 18 points. The best for the losing side was Jamaican forward Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CB Granada's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zamorano have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. CB Granada at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Lucentum and Avila. Zamorano will play against higher ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (#4) in Avila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CB Granada will play on the road against Moron in MorĂ³n de la Frontera and hopes to get back on the winning track.
