Important game to mention about took place in Tel-Aviv. Fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (4-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Galil Gilboa (3-4) 87-85 on Sunday evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv outrebounded Galil Gilboa 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) accounted for 13 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) came up with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) added 21 points respectively for Galil Gilboa in the defeat. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to third place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon and Bnei Hertzeliyya. Newly promoted Galil Gilboa dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Ironi Nahariya (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galil Gilboa will play against Bnei Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
