The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Diamond Dolphins' (10-6) home victory over one of their biggest challengers Ryukyu GK (8-8) 78-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) chipped in 19 points. American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins maintains second position with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Sanen. Ryukyu GK at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against Kyoto Hannar. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
