Regular Season Round 8: Ensino - Segle XXI 65-61

There was a small surprise in Lugo where tenth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (3-5) defeated 7th ranked Segle XXI (4-4) 65-61 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Cuban guard Licet Castillo (175-73, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 10 points. Point guard Aina Ayuso (181-99) produced 19 points and 4 assists and Sofia Galeron (186-99) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Maquinaria Ensino moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with RC Celta. Loser Segle XXI dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face Azkoitia (#12) in Azpeitia in the next round.
