Regular Season Round 7: Hapoel Afula - Macc.Rehovot 69-70

A very interesting game took place in Afula. It ended with only one-point home defeat of higher ranked Hapoel Afula (3-4) to thirteenth ranked Maccabi Rehovot (3-4) 70-69 in the fight for the eighth place. Maccabi Rehovot players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) who led the winners and scored 18 points. His fellow American import forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Isaiah Sykes (198-91, college: Cent.Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds and Nathaniel added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Afula in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Rehovot moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Hapoel Afula. Maccabi Rehovot's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel B/S (#6) in Beer Sheva and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
