Regular Season Round 3: Fukuoka Rizing - Aisin AW 93-72

Fukuoka Rizing (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed Aisin AW (3-4) 93-72. The game was mostly controlled by Fukuoka Rizing. Aisin AW managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aisin AW to just 6 points in first quarter. Fukuoka Rizing dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Aisin AW's 36. They outrebounded Aisin AW 41-18 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a quality performance for American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Forward Takuya Komoda (190-87) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Kei Kato (172-93) came up with 22 points and guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Aisin AW in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing will meet Tokyo HT on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aisin AW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi Toyoda Gosei.
