Regular Season Round 6: Pinheiros - Franca 95-83

No shocking result in a game in Sao Paolo where fourth ranked Pinheiros (4-2) defeated 9th ranked Vivo/Franca (2-3) 95-83 on Friday. Pinheiros made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Pedro Lima (191-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Alexey Borges (188-95) added 20 points and 9 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Pinheiros maintains fourth position with 4-2 record. Loser Vivo/Franca dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Pinheiros will face league's second-placed Brasilia on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Vivo/Franca will play against Caxias do Sul (#15) and hope to win that game.
