Not a big story in a game in Lublin where 17th ranked TBV Start (1-8) was edged by fifth ranked Anwil (6-3) 71-69 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 21-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. The former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) chipped in 16 points. Anwil's coach Igor Milicic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St., agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Doug Wiggins (183-88, college: Mountain St.) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Anwil have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with MKS DG and PGE Turow. TBV Start lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Anwil will face Stabill (#16) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TBV Start will play on the road against PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and hope to win that game.
