Regular Season Round 8: UL Eagles - Templeogue 64-113

Super League top team - Templeogue (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked UL Eagles (1-7) in Limerick 113-64. Templeogue dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to UL Eagles' 38 and made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game, while UL Eagles only scored five points from the stripe. Templeogue players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by UL Eagles' players. The winners were led by the former international forward Michael Bonaparte (196-82, college: Coll.of the Ozarks) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and international point guard Lorcan Murphy (182-94) supported him with 34 points (!!!) (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). Four Templeogue players scored in double figures. Templeogue's coach Mark Keenan felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by French guard Jonathan Dogbo (193, college: Gannon) did not help to save the game for UL Eagles. Seamus Hickey added 11 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Templeogue have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. UL Eagles lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with seven games lost. Templeogue will play against Moycullen (#8) in Galway in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UL Eagles will play on the road against UCD Marian in Dublin to get more than just one victory in their record.
