Regular Season Round 10: Sagunto - L Alfas 66-59

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Sagunto (4-4) defeated 9th ranked L Alfas (1-7) in Gilet 66-59 on Saturday. L Alfas was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 21-9 charge of Sagunto, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 L Alfas turnovers. Quite impressive performance for German-Polish power forward Alexander Machowski (205-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. Dutch forward Jordan Kaspers (197-91) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) replied with 18 points and Russian forward Igor Savchenko (200-95) added 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for L Alfas. Four L Alfas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sagunto maintains fifth position in Group E with 4-4 record, which they share with Valencia II. Loser L Alfas keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Sagunto will face Cartagena (#8) on the road in the next round. L Alfas will play against Valencia-2 and hope to win that game.
