Regular Season Round 10: Real Canoe - Azuqueca 77-70

Rather predictable result when first ranked Real Canoe (9-1) won against 4th ranked Azuqueca (6-4) in Madrid 77-70 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Azuqueca won third quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Ander Martinez (199-95, agency: Duran International) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Real Canoe players scored in double figures. Real Canoe's coach Miguel Angel Aranzabal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Carlos Calvo (178-94) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Azuqueca. Real Canoe have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 9-1 record. Loser Azuqueca dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Real Canoe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Real Madrid II.
