Regular Season Round 11: FSU - Hottur 81-102

D1 top team - Hottur (9-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked FSU (4-6) in Selfoss 102-81. The game without a history. Hottur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Hottur outrebounded FSU 40-25 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a quality performance for American guard Aaron Moss (185, college: Cabrini, agency: Duran International) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists. The former international forward Mirko Virijevic (201-81, college: Freed-Hardeman) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Hottur players scored in double figures. American forward Terrance Motley (201-91, college: Sam Houston St.) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Svavar Stefansson (200-94) added 10 points respectively for FSU in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hottur have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. FSU lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Hottur will play against Hamar (#5) at home in the next round. FSU will play against Vestri and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
