Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Cazorla and 6th ranked Medacbasket had identical 3-4 record. This time Cazorla used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Malaag 88-53 on Saturday night. Cazorla dominated on the defensive end, holding Medacbasket to just 7 points in third quarter. They held Medacbasket to an opponent 21.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Cazorla forced 20 Medacbasket turnovers. Medacbasket was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Vadal Faniel (201, college: Texas A&M Int.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard K.J. Bluford (185, college: E.Kentucky) contributed with 23 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Pablo Ibanez (198-93) replied with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Taylor Cameron (196-91, college: Winona St.) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Medacbasket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cazorla maintains fourth position in Group D-A with 4-4 record. Loser Medacbasket keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Cazorla will face Unicaja B (#5) in Malaga in the next round. Medacbasket will play at home against Coin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
