Regular Season Round 10: Olivar - Calvia 70-77

Very expected game when 14th ranked Olivar (2-7) lost to third ranked Calvia (6-2) in Zaragoza 70-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Calvia forced 19 Olivar turnovers. It was a very good performance for power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Czech swingman Simon Pursl (203-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and guard Carlos Alocen (189-0) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Olivar. Four Olivar players scored in double figures. Olivar's coach Carlos Iglesias let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Calvia have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group C-A. Olivar lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Calvia will face Arenys (#6) in Arenys del Mar in the next round. Olivar will play on the road against Barna (#9) in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
