Regular Season Round 9: Lecco - Padova 80-57

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Lecco (5-4) crushed at home 11th ranked Padova (3-6) 80-57 on Sunday. Lecco dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Padova's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Padova's players. It was a good game for power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (203-93, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Davide Todeschini (190-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists for the winners. Four Lecco players scored in double figures. Coach Massimo Meneguzzo's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Dominican guard Jean Carlos Canelo (188-89) answered with 28 points and forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) added 14 points in the effort for Padova. Lecco have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Desio and Piacenza. Padova lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Lecco will face Reggio Emilia (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Padova will play against Orzinuovi GaGa and hope to win that game.
