Regular Season Round 10: Lucentum - L'Hospitalet 91-53

Very expected game when 14th ranked L'Hospitalet (3-7) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Meridiano Alicante (7-3) 91-53 on Sunday. The game without a history. Meridiano Alicante led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding L'Hospitalet to just 7 points in first quarter. Meridiano Alicante dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to L'Hospitalet's 22. Meridiano Alicante had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Meridiano Alicante especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by L'Hospitalet's players. Power forward Guillermo Rejon (206-77) scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Dionte Ferguson (198-92, college: S.Alabama) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Meridiano Alicante players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Javi Rodriguez (202-92) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Meridiano Alicante keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. L'Hospitalet lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with seven games lost. Meridiano Alicante will face league's second-placed CB Granada on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. L'Hospitalet will play against Zornotza (#6) and hope to win that game.
