Regular Season Round 9: Latina Basket - Lighthouse TR 75-81

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Latina Basket (3-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Lighthouse TR (5-4) 81-75 on Sunday. The former international power forward Andrea Renzi (207-89, agency: Players Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) chipped in 20 points. The best for the losing side was American point guard Keron DeShields (190-92, college: Tennessee St.) with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Latina Basket players scored in double figures. Lighthouse TR moved-up to fifth place in A2. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Lighthouse TR will face league's leader Angelico Biella at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Latina Basket will play against Agropoli (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
